About Edgar
Edgar’s journey began in the depths of depression and anxiety in 2015. After years of seeking relief through modern medicine and psychotherapy, only to find emptiness and unanswered questions, he chose a different path — a pilgrimage across Asia.
It was during this sacred wandering that he immersed himself in ancient practices, becoming a certified yoga teacher, Reiki master, and practitioner of Contact Improvisation. But it was through his encounter with Innerdance that his path profoundly shifted.
Drawn by the call of deeper awakening, Edgar moved to MAIA, an eco-community of healers and artists in the Philippines. Here, he lived for nearly three years, immersed in a life of simplicity, raw food, communal living, and creative collaboration. Under the mentorship of the community’s founder, Pi Villaraza, and other master facilitators, he underwent a personal metamorphosis — unraveling old wounds and awakening to new ways of being.
After this period of deep learning and unlearning, Edgar began traveling across Southeast Asia, offering Innerdance immersions and training facilitators throughout the region. His spaces became known for their depth, safety, and ability to stir profound, unexpected transformation.
Edgar also holds an extensive background in bodywork and energy medicine, trained in:
• Hilot, the ancient Filipino art of healing touch, traditionally practiced by Babaylan (indigenous shamans)
• Marma and Abhyanga massage from India
• Bioenergetics, Chi Nei Tsang, Tantra, and Thai Massage
Through years of practice, he has woven these modalities into his own intuitive yet structured bodywork system, addressing not only the physical body, but also the emotional, energetic, and spiritual layers held within it.
A movement artist, martial arts practitioner, professional dancer, and certified yoga teacher, Edgar moves fluidly between disciplines — guided by a vision to create inclusive, sacred spaces for healing and self-remembrance.
His work bridges ancient wisdom with modern insight, weaving together practical science, somatic intelligence, energy work, and spiritual practices into experiences that invite people back into their bodies, their stories, and their essence.
At the heart of Edgar’s vision is the creation of a diversified energetic language — one that harmonizes the knowledge of East and West, and reimagines the future of healing as a collective, creative, and soul-rooted path.
